Hawaii. Southern California has mild weather for most of the year but there are some scorching hot days and the nights in winter are too cool. It's still a risk. Florida gets bad storms, the sultry weather would be uncomfortable for homeless, and the cold snaps also put one at risk for hypothermia. Hawaii is not as humid as Florida, and doesn't really get that hot either (80sF year-round as a high, lows from 65-75F), plus, no cold snaps.
Hi, my name is robert, I have been homeless, off and on, for 10 years, I get disability, for PTSD, I have my own money, I never ask, for anything. I sleep in the woods, outside, austin, tx. I do not associate, with other homeless, they are bums, alkies, druggies, they like that lifestyle. I tell people, I am only homeless at night. It is a lonely life, I buy my ownclothes, take showers, at the gym, get haircuts, buy hygiene products, you could never, tell I was homeless, I still have a little pride left, and yes, it is embarrassing, I pick up work, here and there, movie extra, focus groups, clinical trials, have a smart phone, two of them, a tablet, and a month bus pass. I find that, I am harder, on myself, then society is, the best advice, I have, is make yourself, as comfortable, as possible, and get indoors, we are not animals, homeless life sucks, thanks.

I'll let you guys in on a little secret. While being homeless in warmer climes may seem like a better option, that isn't necessarily the case, especially in the deep south, where hotter, more hilumid temperatures can lead to excessive disease, and since many of these places are already poor, then services for the homeless will be stretched pretty thin already. There are services for the homeless everywhere you go. I think the most important question that was asked was the attitude of locals and law enforcement. Places in the south, including Florida and Los Angeles, you are just as likely to have your brain splatted on the pavement by cops as you are to receive any assistance, especially if you aren't native to the area. And, as a native of LA, I can tell you, the locals AND other homeless can be just as bad if not worse. If I were you I would go west coast, San Francisco, Portland or Seattle. You might think Seattle is insane, but keep in mind, you can always put more clothes on, but you can't take more clothes off. If you are from a northern state, don't try to be homeless in a southern state, you will die. And the rain? Well, I have been homeless in both Seattle and northern Florida, and I will tell you, I would definitely take the constant drizzle of the Pacific Northwest over the torrential, tropical downpour of the south any day. Besides, cities like SF, Portland and Seattle are some of the.most aesthetically pleasing cities in the country, and I don't know about you, but if I'm going to be hungry and dirty, I at least want to enjoy my surroundings. Speaking from experience, the homeless services in Seattle are good, you can get free clothing and blankets. Most liberal. Cities don't particularly like having their citizens stepping over frozen corpses when the walk down the street, so you'll only freeze.if you choose to. The shelters are OK. The cops will leave.you alone as long as you don't cause too.much trouble. The homeless community is fairly friendly and they don't frown on newcomers so much (that being said, its still dangerous and you have to watch your back) and the locals are fairly relaxed about the homeless population, especially when compared to major metropolises like la or NY. So yeah, screw the muggy heat and mosquitos, kick it in downtown Seattle.
Thank you for the recommendation of Seattle, San Francisco, and Portland as it pertains to being homeless. I agree with you about their beauty as well as their liberal politics. And I'm sure they also have good public libraries, so if I did have to be homeless, at least I could read all day.
