Therefore, Optimal would be 52* in the morning, going up to 72*, but my favorite temperature is 62*, because I can wear a t-shirt and shorts then and be fine, but it's also not too hot if I decide I want to do something more active. Based upon that, my ideal temperature range is anywhere from 40*-84*, preferably with not high humidity. I will say, I appreciate days when it gets up to 20* cooler than 40*, because it changes the landscape and makes it possible to do winter sports, however, anything more than 84*, which is already plenty warm enough to swim in a pool or at the beach, lacks any real purpose, relatively speaking.
Apparently 57 is the optimal temp for human happiness. Who woulda thought?...

Hot: Upper 80s.

Just right: Lower 80s to mid 60s.

Cold: Below 40.

Lifelong Midwesterner here, currently in Chicago.

My ideal range is 65-75.

Hot = 85+
Cold = <20

Frankly though, it can vary. It is remarkable how comfortable 45 degrees feels after 3-4 months in the teens and 20's.
