This is a list of college towns/cities that are considered to be home to several of America's Public Ives with the quality of education similar to the Ivy League at lower cost.

Which one is most ideal for students based on location/its size, things to do for students, and quality of education & the overall reputation of the town/city as a place to live, work, & play?

Here is the link if you want to check these places out:

It might help if you actually provided a link to the list you're referring to ...

I only selected a few places that I find appealing to be voted in a poll I created. If you are interested in the list I got it from, here is the link:

No Lawrence KS? I like Lincoln since I'm from Nebraska, but seriously Lincoln is beat out by all the cities in this poll as well as a few others not on here.

I wonder why several obvious places are missing here, like Berkeley, CA, Champaign-Urbana, IL, Iowa City, IA, Lawrence, KS, State College, PA...? Several of these constitute the common Public Ivy definition.

Ithaca and Madison are my favorites.I voted Madison because Ithaca wasn't listed.

I've heard great things about Davis, CA and Iowa City, but have never been.

I think it's funny that Minneapolis-St. Paul is listed as a college town.

It's very difficult to compare a true college town (Athens) to a large city with a major university (Columbus). Apples to oranges.

This list is bogus. Tallahassee isn't on it and neither is Athens,Ohio. If I had to pick from this list Chapel Hill and Minneapolis.
