US-2 West starts in St Ignace, not Sault Ste Marie.

Most of my favorite interstates are auxiliary routes. You might even claim that I-96 is as well, but it's not!!! haha So I'm going to pick that one. I call it "The Michigan 500."

You're right, of course it is... we were only up there as far as Astoria once and we went to Astoria and crossed the bridge into Washington.

And yes, 'tis the interstate thread... but I spotted Hwy 101 (1), and the discussion on how scenic a drive it was and wanted to add my two cents on how gorgeous it is!

That's right, thanks for the correction. But my point still stands that there's a several hundred mile gap between the western end of the eastern segment at Rouses Point, NY, and the eastern end of the western segment at St. Ignace, MI.

That would be my pick too. From Denver and west. A runner up is I-5 from Seattle to the Canadian border.

Moving out here last year we took I-70 from the beginning (or end depending on which way you're going) just outside Baltimore through Colorado Springs. Good stuff.

A few miles of I-70 from Denver to rifle are nice and scenic the OP wanted the entire interstate.
Technically the Sierras my not be Rockies but they are certainly grand add to that the Appalachians on the other of I-80 and I think you have the winner.
Its an Amazing road thru PA IA NE WY UT NV and CA
I think I might enjoy a larger percentage of I-64 its just as scenic in a more moderate way.
And I -81 is much the same

Now if ya wanna jump off the OP's request for entire roads Id nominate Cabbage hill in OR on I-84
I-5 from Seattle to the first 100 miles of Ca
I-70 in UT
The Pennsy pike In Pa
The Bridge miles of I-10 in LA
I 90 from billings west
Any part of any interstate in WV (or any road for that matter)
I-15 in Ca
Now to really jump of topic
And my favorite road the part of I-70 they haven't built yet ,from the end at I-15 to Ferny(us 50)

And the all time hands down winner best road the USA ever built

THE ALASKA HIGHWAY

Alaska Highway! Not an interstate, but what a trip. I understand it is paved now. When I drove it its surface was covered with nothing but fist-sized gravel. For serious road-trippers, only!
