Fall is the season to be in Texas, cuz its football season. The Cowboys are big in Dallas and high school/college football is big in the rest of the state.
Fall for Boston too, as its just so beautiful up there that time of year.
Winter and Summer for Minneapolis. Winter is what people apparently think its like there for half the year, but really, when it actually is winter, there's lots of people that go ice skating, cross country skiing etc.
And in summer, everyone hits the lakes and parks, and all kinds of festivals and concerts.
Boca Raton is in Greater Miami, but I always thought the two snowbird hotspots in FL were Vero Beach and Sarasota
NYC is always busy, but I have to say I think the busiest time is from Thanksgiving until New Years.
When I used to work in Midtown the tourist crowds were unbearable that time of year. Trying to walk anywhere at all in Midtown can be very difficult at that time. I started packing my own lunches to work so that I wouldn't have to go outside.

Those are probably the best times to visit weather-wise since both Summer and Winter are kind of extreme and uncomfortable here. There really is no "off season" for NYC but Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years definitely is a really huge time here.

Its in the metro area but no one would ever call that Miami, certainly not the way they call "Kendall", "Coral Gables" and "Miami Beach" Miami. Boca Raton is like 50 minutes away from downtown Miami.

I would say fall is the time for New York. "I recall, Central Park in fall, how you tore that dress, what a mess.."
Also the Macy Thanksgiving Parade is a NYC staple. And for winter, the Rockefeller tree and the NYE at Times Square are also iconically New York.

Yes! Fall is the correct answer. SoCal tends to suffer from marine cloudiness in the Spring, in fact there is even a term that is used on local tv, "June Gloom". This is very common along the coast, but in many cases driving just 5-10 miles inland will rid you of this. Thus, "Sunny CA" becomes the norm.
By the fall, the patterns have changed, (usually), and it offers the best weather of the year. SoCal does have a rainy season but doesn't usually begin until after December 1st.
