Yea summers in TX are no joke. Spring isn't either because we get intense T-Storms and hail. Winters can get shockingly cold here too. I remember it was colder in Austin than NYC November of 2022 and I first hand experienced it when I went to NYC. I was shocked.
There really just 'isn't' a good season in TX.
Shockingly cold and warm. The thing about northern falls and winters, you kind of know what is happening . Not a lot of 90 degree HI type days. Not saying they happen a lot in Texas, but it can happen.

Parts of Texas already hitting 100+ degrees this week.
I've heard San Francisco is actually cold/gloomy in the summer and warmer/nicer in the fall .... "the coldest winter I've ever felt was Summer in San Francisco"
That's because the coastal current is typically warmest in Sept-Oct and it's still during the dry season (which means non-irrigated green things are still "golden" ... aka brown), followed by the not-dry (sometimes, but not reliably, actually wet) season from Nov-mid/late winter when things green up according to rainfall received.

Fresno - depends on rain
During drought = fall
Non drought = spring
We had 3 months straight of spring this year with more spring coming.
Texas had it alright this spring, but they've had more spring heat than inland CA this year.
Edit: the city feels most alive during fall cause people are happy to not be dealing with heat. People are overjoyed not to be trapped inside the house. You can sense the relief.
But spring offers the most activities and events. Non drought springs are the best.

like late October. I remember some Texas/ou games in Dallas that were pretty toasty.
