In Alaska I would say at least 99/100 plates are Alaskan, maybe more around 95/100 in the summer, especially if you're looking towards the campgrounds and other hot tourist areas.
There's really no plates that you see more often than others (maybe washington), but the variety is strong enough you could probably easily see every plate in the country in maybe a summer month.
I saw a Hawaii plate today.

I've seen state licenses plates from EVERYWHERE on the Cross Bronx expwy. Growing up, i always brought a piece of paper and marked down the states I saw. In just one trip across, you can see nearly 30 different states on that short expressway.
You get a ton of Mississippi plates when you live/work in Memphis. It all has to do with how committed you are to flee Memphis... some flee to Shelby county (and the non-Memphis incorporated cities), some flee into the next county, some flee into the next state.
Now, at Graceland, I'm pretty sure I saw 20-30 different states as well as half the canadian provinces.
I see New York the most. I'm also noticing a few Virginia and North Carolina plates- The Hackensack area had quite a few NC/VA-->NJ moves believe it or not. (from what I was noticing)
