Some spots of Chicago have areas with many row-homes, which tends not to be typical "Chicago" housing architecture (that is primarily the detached two flats and bungalows). These rowhome areas, while scarce, can be found on the inner south, west, and north sides.

If we're doing suburban-feeling areas of big cities, Chicago's answer would be Norwood Park. Giant front yards and variety of suburban-style housing everywhere.

I also doubt many people would think of this when thinking of the South Side of Chicago:

East St. Louis, IL: not sure of the neighborhood name but it is on the far east side of the city and contains a number of streets with large lots and well-kept houses.

Old Southwest is a walkable, leafy, flat, and affluent neighborhood of Reno, NV. It feels more like the upscale inner-ring suburbs of Midwestern cities like Shaker Heights, OH or Shorewood, WI.

This newer, entirely SFH subdivision with few businesses nearby to attract young people, is within the Portland, OR city limits.

Maybe not what you were thinking of, but I don't think outsiders realize how much heavy industry Seattle and Portland have.

Far north DC feels like PG County

Parts of north Stockton, CA feel like safe, quiet '50s suburbia

Parts of northwest Tacoma are very pretty

Boise, ID has somewhat rough-looking areas

San Francisco: These apartments/projects in Sunnydale remind me of favelas in Brazil.

5 points area is defently an anomaly in Jacksonville since much of the city has a blue collar southern feel https://www.google.com/maps/place/Pa...373!4d-81.6815
