There are about 63 million Hispanics in the US with the most common age of 10 and a median age 15 years younger than the white population. Almost 20% of new marriages are interracial.

We must not think of this demographic change as a problem, it is and will be reality, and it will be the sea that we swim in. The problem that we face is how to shore up and broaden the middle class, which is about 180 degrees from what has been happening since the 1980s.
In terms of your last sentence, it is no coincidence, given that manufacturing employment in this country/the US peaked in March of 1979. So, that should give us something to think about.

While true, most people aren't willing to move across a continent away from family and friends simply to take advantage of better economic prospects. Among Americans it's more common than the human population overall in part because the USA itself is so big, almost a world unto itself. I would say moving across country in search of better opportunities is easier for Americans in families that has been American for centuries, maybe even from colonial times, than it's for say Italian-Americans or Latinos in general.

At least among Latinos if so-and-so who grew up in Florida and his entire family is there, it is very likely he will find it rough convincing them that it is for his best interest that he wants to move to California. The same family but American for generations will most likely encourage the young ones from an early age that they should follow their dreams even if he grew up in Washington DC and his dream would take him to Hawaii.

In the same token, it's inconceivable to many Latino families to have their family spread out across the USA, unlike an American family since generations who would have a uncle in St Louis, a brother in Houston, a sister in San Francisco, he grew up in Boston but will attend university in Denver, etc.

While as Latino families establish themselves and begin to replicate with US-born generations they begin to be a little more accepting, in many cases it's still an uphill battle.

And your point being?

Of course Texas cities gain white population - it gains population from pretty much every single demographics. Doesn't make those metro areas "whiter" (in fact percentage of white is ever decreasing in large Texas metros).

Boise...sure. Utah, of course (but mainly b/c of the high birth rate among Mormon more than anything).

The whole premise of the OP is that US will somehow separate into multiple countries base on geography dominate by a single racial group - which is not even close to be the case.

Yes on that site Texas says it gained 187,000 white people. Which seems low actually. Doesn’t seem to work with the map above and numbers we’ve seen on here.

That’s my point

But you do know other metro areas gained all minority group and lost white people? That’s how it is in much of the northeast at least.

I think the United States is already balkanized. This country is made up of many different ethno-states.

If you look at a racial map of the United States, most of the northern half is very white (often 90% or more) from Maine to Idaho. Blacks are heavily concentrated in the southeast. Hispanics are heavily concentrated in the southwest.

And it is not just divided this way by region. Every major city or metro area is divided into areas where whites, blacks, Hispanics and sometimes Asians predominate.

When people move, they routinely use phrases like "good schools" or "low crime" as euphemisms for what they actually mean to say.

70% of the time when people say that, they mean too many black people.

Schools have more to do with the socioeconomic status of the area it's pulling from. I don't people mean anything racist by wanting good schools, but people don't ever question why American public schools vary so much in quality when you should be able to live anywhere and get good schools.
