Houston can hold its own against NYC, LA, & Chicago quite easily in certain categories, but that's for another time & place.

This thread is about humid cities & yes Houston is humid, but so is NYC in the Summer time.

By the way--thanks for posting those pics. Many of the actual summer shots feature that white sky I referenced. I had been called out for BS on that observation, too. That is a function of pollution and high humidity.

6 US cities rank above Houston in air pollution...can you guess where they all are?

American Lung Association State of the Air 2013 - Most Polluted Cities

So much for Liberals loving the environment & Republicans hating it. This list throws that theory right out the window.

Current humidity levels from Weather.com:

Houston - 45%

San Francisco - 56%

Same situation here too! Miami / South Florida maybe humid but it's suburbs stretch for about 20 miles inland only so the sea breeze does make it inland. The afternoon thunderstorms in the summer does lower the temps as well. Humidity is quite low from October through March. I do agree Orlando is by far muggier and hotter than Miami.

PS: Someone mentioned NYC and being from the area I can attest to that being true. There is nothing more horrific in the summer than having 100+ degree days in the city with a stagnant high pressure system and unbearable humidty combined with the pollution where you can actually see the air!

The worst cities are the northern ones along the gulf in my experience... Houston, Mobile, New Orleans, Dothan, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Ocala, Biloxi, Bainbridge, etc.

Humidity is good for the skin.

You'll never need moisturizers in Houston.

Today in that area, temps are 105-115, but dewpoints in the nice 40s-50s. I can't find a dew point higher than Miami's (77), but southern Vietnam, where it is raining, is also that high. A couple places around the Caribbean also a bit above 75,
This post is right on, and you are very close on the highest dewpoint ever recorded! This was highlighted recently in a tweet by @NWSBoston on 8/14:

Highest dewpoint - Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (7/8/03): 95º dewpoint, 108º temp, 174º heat index
