You know you are an American if you are living in an increasingly less free society

You know you are an American if the political landscape is a 2 party system where both parties are barely distinguishable

You know you're an American if you can't make any jokes about your own country without offending someone

You know you're American when........
You know that to some people it's the "cool" and "enlightened" thing to put down your country and it's citizens instead of actually doing something about whatever it is the "man" drug you down about.

Basically, this thread has morphed into, 'Stating what I don't like about other user comments by comparing their words to whatever I think it means to be American.'

And, as a result, has lost all its appeal.

Now see, I think the opposite:
You know you're American when you can't buy anything in America that is actually made in America...grrrr!

Default You know you're an Amarican if....

...you complain about the job the politicians are doing, then you don't vote, or you vote for the imcumbant.

...you think there's nothing wrong with showing murder and crime on TV, but marijuana and sex is bad and should be hidden from us.

...you pay 3 to 5 times more than what something is worth because it has a certain brand name attached to it.

...your high tech iPhone that gets Internet and GPS, plays music and video, is too slow for you, even though such things were unheard of 20 years ago.
