You know you're American when........
You know that to some people it's the "cool" and "enlightened" thing to put down your country and it's citizens instead of actually doing something about whatever it is the "man" drug you down about.
Basically, this thread has morphed into, 'Stating what I don't like about other user comments by comparing their words to whatever I think it means to be American.'
You know you're an American when you shop at walmart and consider the products you bought are American even though they are made in a foreign country.
You know you're an American when you think your buying a American made car from the Detroit 3 when a lot of the parts inside the car are foreign made parts and in some cases the car is assembled in a foreign country (Mexico and Canada.)
Now see, I think the opposite:
You know you're American when you can't buy anything in America that is actually made in America...grrrr!
...you complain about the job the politicians are doing, then you don't vote, or you vote for the imcumbant.
...you think there's nothing wrong with showing murder and crime on TV, but marijuana and sex is bad and should be hidden from us.
...you pay 3 to 5 times more than what something is worth because it has a certain brand name attached to it.
...your high tech iPhone that gets Internet and GPS, plays music and video, is too slow for you, even though such things were unheard of 20 years ago.
