simcity country boy... you sure are all over this Georgia page, but I have only read where you are urging people to stay away from Georgia. Why is this? Do you live in Georgia?

I've been lurking a bit, decided recently to look north, also moving from FL, possibly to GA, don't want to go to far from family.

Regarding this post, I don't know if simcity countryboy lives in GA, but I would think he does, in or near Dallas, GA, since his homepage is for Hardy Family Ford, in Dallas, GA.

I can understand GA residents not wanting to take in the whole state of Florida, but there's no need to be, well, rude about it, which "Keep on going don't stop in georgia!" would be.

How safe is the suburbs of Atlanta? I know Atlanta proper has crime as high as south Florida. I prefer a low crime area as does everyone!(unless you are an outlaw yourself)

southsidetoxified~

guess what? high crime rate exists everywhere. I live in miami, fl (have my whole life) and managed NOT to get shot at, raped, robbed, etc... contrary to the bad rep we have here. If you are trying to scare off people migrating to GA it's not going to work. My suggestion is you leave, God knows I would hate to have your bitter a- as a neighbor. People like you tend to make the 'peach' state not so peachy afterall.

However, I'm a teacher and real estate in this city is unaffordable for me on my salary. I am coming to the teacher job fair, but am cluless as to what county is the safest to live/work in being alone. I don't know much about the city except for a few visits that I've had and info that I get on the internet. I need to be in a nice neighborhood with great schools, not too far from shopping, affordable single family homes and MOST IMPORTANTLY A HOSPITAL. My daughter has Sickle Cell Disease and I need to have an excellent hospital that specializes in this disease nearby. Please Help.
I am right behind you in moving to Georgia from Miami and I am also a single mom of a 2 and 3 year old. I don't know much about GA, but a friend referred me to Lawrenceville, which I am looking into now. I too would be interested in hearing what cities others would recommend. Best of wishes for you and your daughter.
