At this point nobody is sure what the qualifications will be for the new extended benefits. However, the law was changed that allows part timers to collect as long as you meet the other qualifications. (again, we are not sure what those qualifications are). Letters from the GADOL are supposed to be going out tomorrow.

Wow, this has got to be the most secretive letter in the history of mass mailings. Tens of thousands are going out tommorow, and know one has a clue on what it says.

On a side note, I talked to a lady yesterday who has a sister that works for the GADOL. She said that they are as clueless as we are about the EB, only that to recieve the new benefits will be more strict than previously.
OK, so if they know that it will be tougher to get the EB funds, how is it that thats the only thing they know?

If the GADOL reps haven't had any meetings on whats about to happen, how are they going to handle the swarms of people who are going to be standing in line, and blowing up the phones next week? If the reps really don't know anything, then the May 25th date makes more sense, 2 weeks to get their people on the same page, and that sucks for the people who have exhausted their tier 2.

Good Luck everyone, hope they retro pay yall.

If you're familiar with terms like "baiting" & "trolling", then you spend too much time online.

Asking a question is not baiting, but using the "troll" word is an infractionable offense.

FYI--the rules quite clearly state:

Be civil, no personal attacks, flaming, or insults. We may attack ideas (politely) but we do not attack the speaker of the idea. Be careful with your words, there is a point where being direct crosses a line into blunt, in-your-face hostility. Please, report bad posts instead of engaging in flame wars on the boards. Insulting another member or a moderator will not be tolerated anywhere on this website. This includes Direct Messages and Reputation Comments.

Hate speech, racism or bashing of ANY sort will NOT be tolerated. Rude posts will be removed and infractions issued. Do not quote or talk to trolls or your posts will also be deleted. Use the report feature instead.

Trolling" is prohibited.

Our opinions on a location or issue are just that, opinions. Highly subjective. Personal preferences. Quirks, even. Leave wiggle room for dialogue, others may not see things the same as you, or been there as long as you, and any one of us can be wrong. Pouncing on someone you disagree with runs contrary to the spirit of this board and its members. We are here to help each other.

Default Well said Ginamae38!

My apologies go out to all for making the spirited post that attracted the arrogant troll. Ignore his post, and he will become bored and fade away. Good luck to all in the following critical weeks ahead! I hope everyone finds work soon, because if we never had worked we wouldn't have unemployment insurance. This is not the welfare forum!
