No support for that argument, sorry. Is that what happened when they ended prohibition of alcohol? If your theory is correct that should have happened since alcohol is FAR MORE likely to lead to violence that marijuana. But since it didn’t happen with alcohol it would be fair to say that it will not happen when the prohibition of marijuana is ended.
But how do you legalize something more slowly then?
But Beer is the oldest known recipe people don't just shoot away a life-long tradition. don't give me that "But weed is less dangerous so shouldn't alcohol be prohibited." Well let me ask you something then, should cars be prohibited, should any flammable materials be prohibited, should guns be prohibited, SHOULD HUMANS be prohibited.
Because they're all more dangerous then alcohol. Facts are facts, just because something's legalized doesn't mean crime will go down often times it's gone up.
Wanna an example.
Canada tried lowering the smoking limit to see if it would stop underage smokers? Did it work? No, young smokers just up. This will relate to MJ because IT'S been proven that kids under the age of 16 will have a higher chance of becoming by seeing and hearing stuff that isn't there for a longtime after being stoned (forget the mental name for it).
As I said Decrimilize will also bring more money to the government.
I'm a little disturbed by the people who advocate keeping pot illegal and thus making "criminals" out of the general population who have long since decided to ignore that law and actually prove to society that it isn't worth fighting about in the first place. Laws should actually DO SOMETHING POSITIVE to help us, NOT ruin lives over nothing and make things complicated for all those involved. It's like saying we should outlaw unhealthy food...sure you can make a case but it's not good for society and impossible to enforce without doing irreparable damage to people who are minding their own business and not hurting anyone. Tell me, what is the point?
10 years after it's legal people are going to be ashamed of themselves for fighting agaisnt it for so long and the younger ones are going to be in shock that someone used to be put in jail over it. I GUARENTEE THIS.
BTW, I've NEVER smoked pot and have no plans to so you can throw that sorry excuse of yours out the window. I'm looking at the BIG PICTURE, how society is effected, not some personal sense of morality that I want to impose because I don't like it.
Neither have I heard of anyone beating up their wife or kids while on pot. Can you say that about alcohol? not
Not true. I have witnessed this first hand. A stoner I used to know regularly slapped his woman around when he'd get high and they'd fight about finances. I had to pull him off her more than once, and this was one of the many reasons I stopped hanging around with him. Jus' sayin'.
There were quite a few antisocial types in high school that would get high on a regular basis and go around beating up other kids. The whole "pot makes you into a peace-loving hippie" mindset is a stupid myth based on the stereotype that pot is the drug of choice for anti-war peaceniks.
Wether Stoner,Coke-head,Alkie, addicted to high speed.... if you beat your wife or drive whilst under the influence or screw up any other way there can be no excuse. Take responsibility, and I would even suggest a higher penalty if under the influence.
However,I also believe that prohibition is unsustainable and has been for a long time. Drug prohibition is causing crime, mayhem and destruction across the planet, and enough is enough. Prohibitionists had a good 90 years + to prove their way works, and it doesn't.
Time for a new approach.
Washington and Colorado have made the first step.I'm right behind them!

P.s. I don't drink,smoke,sniff or shoot.
Truly excellent points, all of them. I agree completely!
