Telemarketer. They keep money circulating without producing any value, which gives the appearance of a strong economy and makes us all feel good. Without crack sales-people, we'd all know we were in a depression and be horribly depressed ourselves.
Is the employee to blame for this? or the employer?
Companies somehow convinced everyone that whoever is calling you is thier own boss, making all the decisions, and saying exactly what they want to say just to make you mad. Guess what? It's a job and a script and a strict set of rules! Shocking, isn't it?
Anyways, I agree with "parent" being the most important job in the world.
And I'm not one, btw. Nor am I a telemarketer, either.
I would go with teachers. Really good teachers can impact your life like no one else can.
I dunno, I've just met too many teachers who can't count to ten wthout taking off their shoes.
I gotta go with cops. Next time your wife is home alone and some scumbag is trying to jimmy the front door, I think she's gonna dial 9-1-1- rather than ol' Mrs. Chung from 8th grade social studies.
Henry Ford once said he tried to hire the laziest people he could find. It was the lazy ones that looked for and found ways to make the job easier and more efficient. Remember, the wheel wasn't invented by the most energetic and diligent worker on the jobsite, but by the laziest, most indolent.
To you, which job is the most meaningful, and for what reason?
Farmers and ranchers grow wealth from the soil.
Miners dig wealth from the earth.
All the rest of us just move that wealth around.
From an economic perspective, farming/ranching and mining are the most meaningful occupations. Without them, teachers, lawyers, doctors and the rest of us wouldnt' survive.
