They won't self destruct. They argue politics like anyone else. But when it comes to the safety of Israel they will all fight together.

Israel would make other arrangements if the U.S. deserted them. Alliances with Russia or China possibly. Even Europe would jump in. The benefits of an alliance with Israel probably... maybe... heck, I don't really know, outweigh the costs of an alliance.

I can't see the Russians in an alliance with Israel. Jews were persecuted in the USSR & they left in droves at the first opportunity.

Note that Russia, that is to say, the USSR, was the second nation to grant diplomatic recognition to Israel in 1948. If the United States turned its back on Israel, something tells me that opportunism would override past history.

The lakes and rivers will run with blood, huge tremors will shake the cities so violently they will crumble to dust, tornados will rip up all the rural areas, hurricanes with devastate the East Coast, San Francisco will topple into the Pacific, the earth's surface shall open and vast hordes of flesh eating mosnters will jump out to devour as many Americans as possible, the upcoming NFL season will be canceled, the sun's heat will become more intense, burning all exposed flesh, babies will be born with 5 heads, flying demons will emerge from dark storm clouds and spread plague from coast to coast...

I was talking with a US citizen of Palestinian origins today. He is leaving to go back to Isreal/Palestine tomorrow. He made the comment that 'the jews were the cause of all the wars in the last century and this one. They lie, they cheat, they steal......' I was mute and didn't feel it would accomplish much to get into a debate. The sense of hatred in the room could have been cut with a knife......

I have admired this person for several years and he has always been so calm and dignified in my contact with him.....Wow ! Eye opening.

eta: I do not know wht the solution is to the problems in the Middle East. I believe we need Isreal as an ally there.
