There's no ban on plastic bags where I live but some cities now require customers pay a small fee (usually five cents each) if they want one. I've been using reusable bags for years now and would certainly support a ban if it were proposed.
If stores would stop using plastic bags, and only offer the nice paper ones with the handles and charge you for them, You'd be surprised how many would reuse their own bags.

That's a good point. I have reused the ones I've gotten at Trader Joe's and they're well worth the extra fee. Plus they're easily recycled when worn out
While were all ditching plastic bags we carry out groceries out to our four wheel drives...
My 4wd chevy tahoe is needed for my purposes. The same can be said about the mass amount of people who drive cars that have seating for 5 people but 99% of the time it's only a driver in the car. Why do you need a car that seats 5 if you only drive yourself around all the time? Get a motorcycle, cab, bus, uber, ride a bike etc.
I'd like to see a ban on plastic bags here, but I don't look for it to ever happen, people are just too lazy. If you take your own canvas bags the clerks look at you like you're some weirdo.

This is what they offer in cities with a ban when you have no reusable, and since they hold a lot, the charge of 5 cents/bag is not going to be much of a deterrent.
