Unfortunately, all the carbon already natural sequestered in the oceans and permafrost is being released at rates that have scientists seriously concerned, and the rate of release will only increase in coming years. The only thing that might save us is if the Gulf Stream gets shut down, due to massive melt-off from Greenland, and causes a mini-ice age, at least. Norway has been monitoring the gulf stream for about 20 years, and has been getting more nervous as it slows down more and more.
