I'm born and raised in NC and I couldn't give two flyin' flips who lives/moves here and neither do most other people.
If you are a NC native and you get your panties in a wad about out-of-staters moving here then you are simply a grumpy piece of Moderator cut: inappropriate language who has nothing better to do than gripe about insignificant things.
The only things that I can think of at the moment that separate me from northerners is what I eat and my southern accent. So why would I care what others eat and how they talk.
If any northern transplants living in NC encounter said grumpy NC natives, please just ignore them. They don't represent me or the south.
and just for the record:
I freaking love a good bagel with cream cheese and nova!!!!!
I've lived all over this country, but lived the longest in the South, and of my Southern years, I lived the longest in Greensboro.
I currently live in the Ft.Laud-Miami metro area, and I gotta tell you, I miss the true south:
__real cooked grits
__tea so sweet it makes your teeth hurt
__that great southern drawl
__carolina seafood (most seafood down here su-x believe it or not)
__southern hospitality
That being said, polls are just polls, and, unless I know the method by which they were administered, they don't really hold a whole lot of weight for me.
People who are so narrow minded as to be unaccepting of persons who are "different" from themselves are usually people who "don't get out much" to begin with.

Not to mention that the OP shot one message (that I had to frown over. lord, talk about someone who needs to go back to grade school and learn to spell and punctuate) then disappeared.
