Anyone heard any updates on when the Tanger Performance arts center will open its doors? I remember when Jay Leno was supposed to be the 1st act... I wonder who or what the 1st performance will be now when it opens!!

From the two guys in the photo mocking up stuff, there is no render, but I was told from them it would be a mixed use 6 story office building, with a construction company taking up the top two floors, followed by a law firm and possibly apartments on first two floors.

I’m not one to speculate, but I think the construction company might be dhgriffin

However I knew it something pretty big since they cleared off nearly two blocks.

But very glad to see downtown mesh into midtown

Default 5 story Brown Investment headquarter's building

Five-story building with offices and apartments planned near Triad downtown

The plan calls for 34,200 square feet of office space and 32 apartments in a building across Battleground from Green Hill Cemetery in a corridor just southwest of Midtown.

Had dinner at a greys Tavern downtown last night. It was soo nice to see people out and about again.. . They even had a dj . It almost felt like pre covid days!!! People mixing and mingling... my friend stated that he thinks an increase in covid vaccines is gonna make a big increase in std cases LMAO!!! I think he gonna be right especially with the college crowds this spring break lol

so is it 5 or 6? Because I was told 6 by the workers. Unless they had a last minute change.

I don't know, but I checked out the city's zoning site and it lists the gross floor area as 49,900, not the 34,200 in the bizjournal article so it's possible the plans have changed since that article was posted.

Exciting to see. Whatever happened to the mixed use project (rowhouses/apartments) that was planned for the other corner?

Seems like the developer wanted to go more dense. In addition they wanted to mix affordable housing with it.
