I liked Clemmons, Lewisville and the North Davidson area. We eventually settled in the North Davidson area because we could get more house and more land for the money (also the property taxes were much cheaper). Clemmons and Lewisville are nice community areas geared for families, the North Davidson area is a little more rural.
I concur with tippster I would choose between Midway and Wallburg. Nice price house on a decent size property and I would be close to all the triad cities than just Winston.
I grew up in Clemmons, so I am a little partial. Would also consider Advance (Davie County).
Moved to Charlotte though from West End in Downtown Winston-Salem (loved it).
Depends if you want city or burbs.
