I don't believe amtrak makes it to the airport. but lets say you hop off amtrak and hop in the cab...it will be around $21.70. index

I think it would be nice If PTI Airport had an Amtrak station. There is one downtown and I think it is important to have train stations in the two biggest economic activity centers in Greensboro. As the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation pushes commuter rail in the Triad, I think the airport will eventually get a train stop. I remember at one time there was even talk of having a monorail connecting downtown with the airport. A few members of P.A.R.T. thought it would be a great idea to have a pair of "Disney World" like monorail tracks along the median of Bryan Boulevard.

Imagine these going through downtown Greensboro. Its very unlikely Greensboro would get monorail due to the extremely high cost of putting a system in place. Also some would even argue that it just wont fit in with the setting of downtown Greensboro where historical neighborhood surround the downtown area. Its also the most expensive mass transit rail option. But Greensboro REALLY needs to push for some kind of rail transit option and one connecting downtown with the airport. Maybe if downtown ever gets a hotel/convention center, the rail line can go right through the convention center. People flying to Greensboro to attend a convention would just have to hop on the train from the airport and it would take them inside the convention hotel. Charlotte has something similar to this where the trolley goes through its uptown convention center.
