I think this project is going to be another illustrative point as to Greenville's focus and will. Just piecing together all of the property in order to make it available to the developer was a HUGE task for the City. I can't even remember now how many owners they had to try and track down. Perseverance should be the word of the day for Wednesday.
I definitely think an entertainment focus here is key, whether it be a movie theater, Dave & Buster's, House of Blues, etc. Really looking forward to learning more on Wednesday! I wish it were tomorrow instead!
Monday, Greenville Mayor Knox White said the “long journey” is about to end, though he wouldn't elaborate. “I think everyone will be very pleased with what will be announced on Wednesday,” he said.
Hearing this project will include a corporate HQ also. Both retailer and corporation are said to be new to Greenville which would scratch Barnes & Noble off the list. Dave and Busters or Joseph-Beth perhaps?
Something like Lucky Strike would be perfect. So would a movie theater. Entertainment-focused attractions are the next step for our fair city.
