Coming from SOFLA BOA is VERY hard to deal with. My DD has her account there, when I take CASH to deposit, I'm asked for my drivers License. Not only that, they no longer have deposit slips for you to fill out if you don't have one. You have to ask for one - you're made to feel like a child, or a possible thief. They say it's due to fraud. What the heck do they think people are going to do with blank deposit/withdrawl slips! You enter the bank, they ask what you're there for - like everyone has to know my business? Really? I have my MC with them and go pay it at the bank. I'm asked if I have a bank account with them, or a debit card - too many questions and none of their business.

Being up here and still having to go there once a month, it's a whole other world. Going to the BOA on WH in Greer is a totally different experience, friendly people, no questions, and deposit and withdrawl slips available, if needed.

So, while it's still a different experience up here, having dealt with BOA for quite a while the way I have, it still has me not wanting to move my "katrillions" there.

Personally, I go for more of a local/regional based bank.
Thanks for that. I have been banking with essentially the same bank for almost 20 years. I opened a bank account when I was 17 and then it was taken over again and again and again (and taken over again!!) until it became BOA maybe 7-8 yrs ago now. I barely remember what it was like to have a local bank experience. I also never physically go into a bank -- I do everything online or at ATMs -- that's why I would never notice the things you've had trouble with. It's good to hear that your experience with BOA in So. Carolina is much better than it was in FL. At least it's improved a little for ya!

that is exactly my thought, it is great to be able to deposit, transfer, withdraw all online or from an ATM. The only time I've been in a BOA in the past 5yrs was to open or close an account and to wire money overseas, all experiences have been easy and friendly.

Like you, I've have been with the same bank for almost 30yrs, local to SOFLA. I love that they would know me, I could call the branch mgr and ask her to move money for emergencies without me going in, never asked for my ID unless someone was new to the branch, and in seeing me.

I don't do ATM's or bank on line, everyone I know who has has had some type of an issue, so I chose to go in a bank when needed, which isn't often. When the bank gets to know you, it can be helpful in certain situations. Nowadays, things are too impersonable, but I guess that's the sign of the times
