I'll be relocating to Clemson on August 1 while my significant other attends graduate school. I have an MA in history and museum studies and will be looking for professional work in a museum or other professional historic setting. I've done some research and found a few museums (Upcountry History Museum, Pendleton Historical Foundation, Anderson County Museum). I don't mind commuting to Greenville or anywhere within 30 miles if that is my only choice.
What other types of places should I be considering for employment? I am not 100% sure what else is in the area in my field. I am also looking for city, county, and state run museums in the region. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
There is a good number of historic places near Clemson, although I don't know if many have full-time staff. Pendleton, just down the road from Clemson, has many historic structures and organizations.
