Both restaurants have added great new additions to Greenville dinning. Both are affordable with great food and unique atmosphere.
I have eaten at Nose Dive a dozen times or more and I am amazed by the quality of food that arrives for the price. I highly recommend whatever special they have for the day as it is usually unique and very fresh.
We tried Trappe Door a couple months ago - wonderful beers & knowledgeable servers, and fantastic old-world fare! And, unbeatable atmosphere. Nosedive is pretty darn good - I've enjoyed their Croque Madame sandwich a couple times. I'm DYING to check out Velo Fellow!
And, while we're on this genre of establishments - does anyone know anything about the progress of the pub that's been underconstruction for what seems like forever on S. Main St between Rio restaurant and Augusta St?
For my main course, I order a Banh Mi. Wonderful. As good or better than I've had in West Coast cities with major Asian populations.
I am glad to hear you say this! I went to Nose Dive for lunch a few weeks ago and had my first Banh Mi sandwich - so I had nothing to compare it to. But I loved it! Talk about contrast in flavors. I had wanted to eat one ever since seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
We also had pretzel with the warm crab dip and cheese as the appetizer which was very good.

I've been wondering about that location forever! They did pretty extensive exterior work on it last summer and then nothing ever came of it..!
We are going to have to give this place a second chance, and soon. My wife and I went there when they first opened, and the Banh mi was nothing special. I've heard they've worked out the kinks though.
The Trappe Door is higher on my list now, however. We ate their food at Artisphere, and I want some more of that!
