Mauldin and Simpsonville, Here We Come!
New "Golden Strip Route" service beginning October 15th
We are excited to announce that after months of strenuous planning the new Mauldin-Simpsonville Route, known as the "Golden Strip Route," is set to begin service on Monday, October 15. The introduction of the "Golden Strip Route" is an exciting addition to our existing fixed route service and marks a major step forward towards a regional transit system. The route will run weekdays from 5:30 AM to 7:30 PM and from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturdays. It will connect to the rest of the Greenlink system at Verdae on Route 8 and at the University Center on Route 1. The Route will also connect with the CU-ICAR/St. Francis Shuttle Route. It includes 12 stops in Mauldin and 8 stops in Simpsonville (as well as 1 more in Greenville). Check out our website here for the details and a map of the new route. We also are introducing three brand new Gillig buses, each with free WiFi, to our fleet to service the route. So hop on and enjoy the new route in style!

IMO, it is a mistake to make the service end earlier on Saturday. I believe a good bit of service could be received Friday and Saturday for the evening 'party, shopping, movie, etc' crowd from 6pm-12pm. Its unreasonable to assume its getting its best use if people have to be headed home already an hour before service officially ends, which is around 6pm or 5pm.
Driving around Mauldin today I spotted a sign on Miller Rd. around Old Mill Rd. Haven't paid attention too much to this since its unlikely to come to this side of Mauldin.
Researching the stops in Simpsonville, I think they have them placed where they will work best to start. Mainly inside the city limits and not in the more gated/rural areas.
