I didn't feel it, but local FB friends say they did.
I totally blame it on Obama. After all, the earth's crust in the Virginia area cannot withstand the weight, given the amount of money he's printing.

I felt it in Mauldin - several minutes of house shaking. It's funny that the news stories could track how far north the quake was felt, but for a long time it wasn't felt south of "North Carolina" until some reporter finally confirmed reports from Georgia.

(To the rest of the country, South Carolina either doesn't exist, or is just part of the state called "Carolinas"! )

After reading the details, perhaps it isn't so funny. A preliminary 5.9 magnitude quake between Charlottesville and Richmond, VA. Lasted 45 seconds.

I didn't feel or hear a thing. Off WH in Greer.

My washing machine probably shakes more on the spin cycle!

Whoa... That is such a stereotypic caricature..... It honestly sounds like what someone who's heard or read certain things about "the South" but hasn't really spent much time here has dreamed up in their head, but isn't necessarily the truth.

I guess they are followers of Harold Camper. Another Dooms Day prediction that didn't go through maybe?

It broke a water connection to our large fountain. Irrigation crew is at the house repairing it now.

I felt it here in Taylors, near Northwood Middle School. Daughter felt it in NC (in college - administration had students evacuate the buildings). Friend in Toronto said it was felt all the way up there.

A few friends of mine in New York City had to evacuate highrise buildings due to the earthquake being felt there. Crazy.
