Where I live there are only two kinds of wild fungi. It is found in the spring growing near felled trees: sponge mushroom which is shaped much like a christmas tree but it is hollow inside. The other is the poison toadstoool which is often mistaken for a mushroom.

I can just imagine a farmer mushroom market where people all bring the random mushrooms they find around their house. Kind of like folks paying $50 for sushi that isn't even the fish they thought it was.

Late to the game here, but those look like the toxic Sceloderma. If they are black on the inside, that would be fairly definitive.

Default idnetify truffles

I have uncovered a ton of below ground , what we believe to be tuffles. when cut open they are red inside, lovely smell, under ground, potato like, any ideas
