This article mentions that the property needs environmental cleanup done due ground water contamination from its textile days. It also says additional testing would need to be done post demolition to check for contamination for where the build currently is.

So is the demolition being done to try to make the property more marketable, basically getting the property cleaned up to sell? Or is there already a buyer lined up?

Default 15 Carolina Point Parkway, Greenville, South Carolina 29607-5764

I assume demolition is occurring to make the property more marketable. It has been vacant for years without attracting interest. Cleaning up the site and preparing it for redevelopment may have been the best option.

No announcements I have seen. Sounds like property still has to be tested for contamination after old structure comes down. Which begs the question was the property where the shopping center, apartments and hotels sites cleaned up. It was all part of the same complex wasn't it? I am guessing it was. Sounds like a costly endeavor.

Default Try by Hilton - Carolina Point

Does anyone know who is building the Tru by Hilton on Carolina Point Pkwy as well? I am aware of Windsor Aughtry doing the Residence Inn. Just drove by and saw the Tru sign and the property is being graded.
