Publix has closed and will be closing stores for remodel. Remodels are actually closing stores, razing them, then building and opening new stores in their places. I think "closing soon for remodel" is being extended to stores that are being replaced by new stores in new locations.
"remodel" is just a term Publix uses for renovating or replacing stores. In this case, the "remodel" is almost complete at Grand Central at Martin Farms.
Property management has confirmed that Aldi has signed a lease to occupy 24,000 square feet of the old Publix space at Fairview Market. There is another 14,000 square feet available for a junior anchor. Publix has a Lease expiring in March 2018, with Aldi starting construction soon thereafter. Aldi is expected to open late 2018.
No speculation as of yet, but according to the property owner, if no junior anchor is found, the remaining 14,000 square feet will be converted to small shops.
