I imagine that end of the shopping center will be redeveloped into some sort of mixed use rather quickly that close to Augusta and downtown.
I'm assuming Bi-Lo on the other end was an add-on and under different ownership. They gave that Bi-Lo the green facelift this year and even resurfaced the parking lot while the Kmart lot was untouched.
It will be the end of an era if that old landmark Kmart close down. And sad to see no Kmart remaining in the state of SC. I wonder what will replace that spot? And if the BI-LO will eventually close? Would be a good location to upgrade with a Publix if BI-LO shut down.
BI-LO #5016, 6 Kmart Plaza, Greenville, South Carolina 29605-4442
BI-LO #5016 is closing near the end of its lease. A store does not stay in business despite receiving an update and losing business and sales. Positions at other store locations are limited. Southeastern Grocers cannot afford severance packages.
Harris Teeter #420, Lewis Plaza, 1720 Augusta Street, Greenville, South Carolina 29605-2926, is nearby and is constantly busy.

I think I have been in that Bi-LO one time in 10 years. It's never busy there.
The future of Kmart Plaza probably involves being converted into medical offices. It may be possible that a Neighborhood Market could take over, like we need another one of those.
