I couldn't agree with you more! So you're holding on to 39 also? I have those "laugh lines" also. Glad to have them (I don't like the alternative too much )

Those wrinkles (a.k.a. "crow's feet") are a beautiful blessing for a wise and witty woman. I hope you will never feel embarrassed or stressed over their development, because they are a visible sign of your pleasant inner nature.

The neighborhoods mentioned above are all great places to check out. Spaulding Farm, Kilgore Plantation, Parkins Mill, River Walk, Stonehaven, Acadia, The River Reserve, etc... All are family friendly areas. There are many other neighborhoods I would recommend as well, but you will be able to find others when you arrive to look around firsthand, so I will let these suffice for now. Take care and I trust your search will be short and sweet.

Skyliner......it takes a wise and witty man to recognize that those "laugh lines" or "crow's feet" are a blessing! LOL........Thanks!

Yes, Sheri......still holding onto 39.....(for real)......but only for a few more months......awww........to be young again! .......NOT!
I would never trade the life experiences I've had for youth.

I once read.......The wrinkles on your face are your "life story".......and I've got one heck of a story! LOL

AcadianIrish,

I didn't read your post to think that you had a ton of wrinkles! I am personally "holding onto" 39, but have already passed it! You will LOVE being 40. These are some of the best times of my life. Would love to hear your stories one day.

Default eastside neighbors

I'm glad you have flexibility, you should be able to find the "perfect" house. But since you do get a lot of bang for your buck here, you might want to consider setting aside some of that available money for mountain property.
Hwy 11 has an abundance of nice places. We purchased 3.5 acres overlooking TableRock and spend at least one weekend a month up there.
My Canadian especially enjoys that area.

Thanks for the info! So, how far of a drive would a mountain property entail for weekend trips?

We were actually considering purchasing a small lake property in a couple years if all goes well.....but I don't imagine those are going for too cheap?!

The biggest problem with us purchasing a second property in South Carolina is that I can't imagine where in the world we are going to find the time to enjoy it with all the sports, school and work during the school year......then summer time we head to Canada to spend the summer at our beach house in New Brunswick. (It affords us just enough time with our extended family to keep connected but reminds us WHY we live away!)

You do know that Powerdersville is not on the east side? I didn't look there because it was a bit too far from my husband's job.

If you want to live fairly close to your chosen schools, there are some very nice subdivisions in that area: Chanticleer, Parkins Mill, Collins Creek, Gower Estates, etc. The only problem is that the homes tend to be older. That area would have been my first choice as it's close to downtown, but I guess our timing wasn't right.

Of the subdivisions a little further east, I liked Riverwalk (trees/creek, swim teams, smallish lots) and Asheton Estates. Any further east and you'll have quite a drive to school, I think.

I found the following website helpful (someone else on the forum suggested it): exitgreenville.com; be sure to sign up for the virtual office, as you can do some detailed searches. There are also a lot of FSBOs so you might want to set aside time to drive around your favorite subdivisions.

Good luck and keep us informed of your progress!
THANKS!
Your information is very helpful! River walk looks really nice and seems to have almost everything we are looking for. Can't wait to go and visit the areas myself. Only so much of a "feel" you can get on the net!

AcadianIrish,

I look forward to hearing from you. By the way, I must warn you that I have a very southern accent!
