Hunting is really localized.

Some would say MD for Canada geese, although some of the Midwest/Prairie states are competitive.

Arkansas for ducks.

PA for whitetails, although some states such as MD have very high bag limits.

The Dakotas to Nebraska for ring necks.

Let the games begin.

Well, probably you can get in more spectacular hardcore big game hunting in Alaska than any other state.

That said, any place in the Old West has good big game hunting.

Midwest has a lot of good bird hunting.

There are really only a few highly urbanized states in the Northeast that don't have at least some sort of hunting to brag about.

Overall, I'd have to stick with my home state.

We hunt, we don't bait, we don't sit in blinds, we actually get out and stalk, or walk down game.

Moose, Big Horn Sheep, Bear, Elk, Deer and Antelope. Depending on winter kill, you can get all the deer tags you can buy, same with antelope. Sometimes you can get additional Elk tags.

Upland Game birds can be found just about anywhere. Pheasant, prairie chickens, and turkeys are thick and easy to fill your tags. Ducks and geese are more localized but very huntable.

Lots of varmits to sharpen your skills.

And most of all, outstanding gun laws, or should I say lack of them.

Well, no State can compare to Alaska. The problem is that the remoteness and lack of roads makes hunting extremely expensive. For example, an out of state hunter would spend around $8,000 or more for a brown bear hunt.

My brother said he does not care how much it will cost him but someday he will do a moose hunt in Alaska.

I've gotta find someone to teach me how to stalk/track animals. Gotta get the hunter safety course/rifle set up first though.
