This is more out of curiosity................how to CCW with little kids climbing on you when you interact with them. I have seen Kydex YT vids and trigger protection would not concern me as much as......"What's that Uncle"? when they can see it isn't your smart phone because it is worn outside of pants.
I would not even take the chance; the odds of needing the gun is not near what the odds are of one of those kids coming across it and doing something. If you must, at least do not keep it chambered (assuming a semi-auto).
I guess it depends on where and how you carry. I have carried for over 20 years and with 14 grandkids, have never once had one of them ask, or find it. Course, I don't let them just climb all over me.

Yeah it's new to me that's why I asked. I have never had CCW, just now spend great time with my nieces and we getting having fun and they like to jump on me and roughouse, which is fine, and these are all girls. I think they are trying out moves from WWE.
I first thought about the whole CCW interacting with ppl when I was taking some martial arts classes and guys were having their ladies take their stuff to the car discretely before practicing/sparring and I asked my inst. after that he said alot of them were carrying at the time. So I thought hmm, etiquette for carry?
Ironically I feel the desire to carry more here than were in lived in Denver, and of course, it's next to impossible to get one in CA, but that's another story.

You make good points, and their safety is much more important, I think if I ever do, I will leave in the car if there is going to be WWE time.
You can buy safes for guns that use your fingerprints so kids cannot get in them. They just cost a few hundred dollars. Put the gun in the safe when the kids come over to the house. Or you can get ones that use keys.
You got options to put the gun up so the kiddies cannot grab it while you are in the house with them. Do you honestly think you need it in the house?
