In the ultimate show of intelligence, in CA pellet guns and BB guns will now have to have the ends of their barrels displayed in red or that florescent orange.
They have already caught criminals painting the ends of rifles red.
So then just what purpose does that law serve?
Nah... I think the Bill that was just signed in to law in CA requires the ENTIRE pellet gun to be a bright red, fluorescent color, not just the tip anymore.
Spray paint companies are on track to have a record year in CA.....

It isn't against the law to paint a rifle, so where were these criminals caught and what were they charged with?
My peace of mind is more important than your freedom. Duh.
really? I hope that is sarcasm. if it is not, then cops should be the 1st ones to lose their access to firearms, followed by all the politicians, and then all the liberal actors who claim to hate firearms but don't mind owning a couple of dozen.
If you people think you can run away out of California to some other state to get away from what is happening here and on the East Coast your only fooling yourselves.

Isn't there a stipulation that requires the guns be returned within 14 days or something like that?
Not that that makes it better, but the sky isn't falling, the 2A isn't being gutted by this bill, to spite the pro-rights group's best efforts to make it seem that way.
The first part of understanding laws is understanding that governments can disregard them using completely arbitrary reasoning.
One need only look at the immigration laws to know that governments can and do ignore laws, regulations and rules with impunity and then justify those actions in saying it is for the benefit of the people.
A stipulation in a law that takes away guns through little more than a complaint and what one judge determines to be correct means nothing.
Say the guns aren't returned. Then what? Consider how long it will take to get them returned. Then consider what happens when the individual goes to buy another gun and for some reason, the word never got passed along to update some record that is then used to deny the purchase.
Remember, this is in a state where technology rules yet they can't complete a background check in less than 2 weeks when you go to buy a gun. We trust they will set in place a good system to return guns once confiscated?
Lets go one step further. The individual owns quite a few guns. Some where bought a long time ago, legally but not registered or in any way linked to them via some official record. Now they are confiscated via this new law. Can we see where the state would then require the individual to prove they obtained the guns legally or had some proof of ownership other than possession? Possession is not 9/10ths of the law or ownership. Ownership is what the government decides it is.
Now someone who had their guns confiscated would have to prove ownership and if they can't, then what? Lets say they get them back. Who thinks those guns are not now registered?
Of course the confiscation of the guns is meaningless without also taking the ammunition as well.
Been getting it since the Republican Governor of Kalifornia in 1989 ****ed us over.
Yes, I'm aware of 1968 and 1932
