Does anyone know where I can buy 22 long rifle, rim fire ammo? I've tried Walmart, online, etc. It's all out of stock. I just want to use my 22 for target shooting and am now done to 50 bullets.
I went to our large chain last week and they have litle ammo on the shelves.
I bought 4 boxes of 12 gauge, three 500 bricks of 22 and 10 boxes of 223. They had quite a bit of shotgun shells. I cleaned them out on the 22. No primers thou darn it.
I need to find primers for my black powder soon, figure I can make my own black powder and cast balls. But now I wish it was a flintlock.
I'm going to gun show on the weekend after next. I'll keep an eye out for .22 ammo. I have 500 rounds of .22 magnum, which is a favorite caliber of mine. I hope I can find some .223 ammo.

I second the link above. Cheaper than Dirt is a great site. I feel your pain regarding the ammo shortage. Its extremely difficult to find any sort of target loads right now. Our president is apparently the greatest gun and ammunition salesman that the nation has ever seen.

Keep an eye on Walmart - our local one is finally starting to get a little bit more ammo on the shelf from week to week. They finally have some .22LR after many weeks without it. Maybe things are finally turning around. Otherwise, a gun show is your best bet.
Look in the phone book for Gunsmiths, Gunshops, Sporting Goods, Gun Clubs, Ammo and such. And buy as much as you can afford. The man elected president has everyone scared and they are hoarding guns, Bullets like mad.
Thanks. I just got back from a tour of around where I live. I went to Dick's, Academy, and 4 Walmarts. I found 2 boxes of 50 rounds so I bought Walmart out! After all that travelling, I didn't wind up with much. I just want to go target shooting once a week with my husband and it's not going to be easy to do unless more ammo becomes available.
