Hi,

Do any of you know of a tried and true way to get your hair to grow faster?
I'm wanting a certain haircut but my hair needs to grow more first
Do Silica pills work?

Thanks

I have a health issue that causes me to go through phases where my hair falls out. Not completely, but enough that you can see my scalp on the top of my head.

A few years back, I researched the heck out of supplements for hair growth and started taking them religiously. I was at the point where I thought wigs would be in my near future, so I was desperate to do anything I could to not lose my hair.

Since taking the vitamin combination below regularly, the phases of hair loss have completely stopped.

This is what I take daily:

B-complex co-enzyme version (Jarrow Formulas makes a good one)
Biotin 5,000mcg per day
MSM 1,000-5,000mg per day
JarrowSil -15 drops per day- liquid version of silica by Jarrow Formulas

My hair grows very fast.

Sulfur helps when applied to the scalp. But you should do a patch test first to see how you handle it.

Yeah, I agree take Biotin.

Because of my age I'm only taking 1,000 MCG, but you're obviously old enough so take 5000.

Pros: My nails have become stronger, no more peeling. My hair looks great too.

Cons: Can cause break outs. Especially at such a high dosage. Drink some H20

Thanks for the replies everyone
I just started taking GNC's- Hair, Nails & Skin vitamin- so hopefully I will notice some changes. It has 3,000 MCG of Biotin in it. GNC's website had a ton of review comments for it and majority of people liked it and saw noticeable changes.

Also, really massage your scalp hard when you shampoo, and brush your scalp with a good hairbrush. I lost my hair from chemo and was advised that doing this will stimultate the blood supply to the scalp and nourish the hair follicles.

Biotin should be a good start but Ive been told that prenatal vitamins also help. A beautician that regularly permed my hair for me back in Calif told me that trimming occaisionally is good for getting rid of the dead ends BUT to make your hair grow faster, its all a myth, it doesnt affect how fast hair grows.
Just my 2c.
