I don't know how typical it is, but my hair is like that, too. I always have to get the that hair from the front and top trimmed more often than the hair on the sides and back.
I carry a pocket battery razor. My stubble gets out in a matter of 6 to 7 hours and I shave every morning with a fancy 4-blade razor
I also get to the barber every 10 days coz it gets out of control really fast. But I don't think it can grow in a particular place, check with the hair doctor as to what has made the other follicles weak.
You need a lot of folic acid - pick up malt o meal. I eat it every day.
The hair at the top front of my head seems to grow faster than the rest
Totally normal! Hopefully you've got a haircut that hides it? Some people have hair that grows faster on one side than the other - so they need frequent hair cuts, just to stay even!
Thanks for the replies. I recently did the front simply by combing it down and trimming the bangs in a straight line -- no problem. In the past ten years I've been getting short haircuts and didn't notice inconsistent growth, but since it's been more than three months since getting my usual military chop (I'm becoming a hippie) I've really noticed the faster growth.
