For years i couldn't get this jingle out of my head, im shocked i found this. Who here loved Yick lung crackseed. It was made in Hawai'i. Well this isn't as good as the original comercial but still brings up the hanabata memories.
Aloha, howzit? so yesterday i was watching Netflixs when it recommend attack of the killer tomatoes lol. It brought a flood of hanabata memories of watching movies in Oahu, remembering who i was with and how i felt. Where was you or who were you with?
Its amazing how much everything has changed at home, but that hasn't changed the feelings of Aloha i have for home and places i grewup with. Of course my hope with this thread was to help people remember a simpler time, and the feelings of Aloha attached to home.
I wantted to say mahalo , because it is also you who reads this thread and its you who helps me to remember my hanabata times and memories. Aloha nui loa my bruddahs and sistahs.
Ok today i was thinking how much things have changed, one good example was Ala Moana Shopping Center, must of us who are middle age remembers playing in the sandbox, keiki land and birthdays at Ferrell's or other unique shops or experiences there. Sometimes i even remember a whole day spent running around the mall and having fun without spending a dime. So today i found this to remind you of our past. Shocked about the huge changes. Well enjoy Mahalo
Aloha, well im not sure what you meant by posting the daily show? This thread has nothing to do with politics, unfortunately i wasnt able to get the clip to work, so if it wasnt about politics let me apologise. Well im glad you enjoyed it that was my hope. Mahalo
One hanabata memory i have had was late at night after a day being kohole (mischief maker). Before i go on i think its important to explain to the modern parents who i can imagine are gasping at the ideal of a young kid running around at night without supervision. That in Hawai'i this was different times, unlike today, it was safe to leave your kids to play or runaround while you shopped or etc. So back to after a day of playing and at night i used to love to run through the international market place. I know, i know, any selfrespecting local wouldn't find themselves at that tourist trap, but i was a kid and enjoyed experiencing the japanese wooden walkways, the gorgeous koa fish ponds lighten up at night. Anyone know if the walkways still there? Anyway on the note of how things have changed heres a clip of a walktrough the current marketplace. Man has it grown, i don't even know half of it.
Today I was surfing youtube to listen to some music and I ran into this song and while listening and tearing up from relatting to the words and hanabata memories. I dawned on me, that this song reminds me of this thread and ones Aloha for home and things gone. About a year ago and other times in my life i would have vivid dreams of Hawai'i, oh how i miss her. Have you had the samething happen?
