I'm in search of a part-time summer teaching position in Hawaii. I'm tenured instructor at a community college in PA in the discipline of Communication and English.

Any suggestions on where I can search for this type of position?

these posts that say teachers are in demand. You know why they are? HI makes it almost impossible to get certified from the mainland. They do not have reciprocity with any other state so you have to start from the beginning no matter how much experience you have. You can't even substitute without taking 30 hours of classroom training THERE. If you already have a degree, unless you are going for a higher degree, you can't get financial aid so how is the average person supposed to do this? It is totally unrealistic to tell mainlanders to just come on over, you'll get a teaching job. Not so. Although the OP here is looking on the college level and that may be different. For El-Hi it is nearly impossible. My husband researched it to see if we could make the move.
