This is a bit of an oddball thing, but it might help folks moving to Hawaii to understand how the state government works. Apparently, our government is different than most of the mainland.

In any case, though, does anyone know of a list of State of Hawaii Executive Orders and how to access them? I'm working on a roadway issue that was formed by an Executive Order and it would be really handy to actually read the order to see the details.

Are they part of the Hawaii Statutes? I couldn't find them anywhere online or in the library system. I've not looked at the statutes yet. This would have been an order from probably somewhere in the mid 1950's or so.

Executive orders issued by the current governor are located at the following link...
David Y. Ige | Executive Orders

For executive orders from the 1950s or so, you'll probably have to visit the Hawaiʻi State Archives. Here are links to the relevant call numbers...

Thanks, Jonah, you're a jewel! I'd not expected the archives to be accessible online nor even knew to look there for Executive Orders.

It's kinda a street-in-limbo sort of thing when an Executive Order snipped off the front part of a street and relocated it to the street next to it to make the end of the block one big piece. That meant one street now goes to two streets and they for some reason didn't name one of the two of them. So there's seven houses built way back when that now don't have an official address and haven't had one for decades. Very strange. Maybe the documents will have a name for the street and then everyone will be happy and the newspaper folks will be able to use their GPS to deliver papers.

Do places other than Hawaii do this sort of thing? Someone was asking me about incorporated cities and if the schools were better in any particular city in Hawaii. They didn't understand the County level of government thing.

Well, just as a follow-up, the archives aren't actually online, but for a small fee they will snail mail you hard copies. So, I've mailed off a check and they will mail back the paper. Very old school, but I suppose they are the epitome of old school being the archives and all.
