On the bright side, Covid 19 is done and over with. I wonder what the next crisis will be after the rioting and looting.

Ya think, eh? Shall we file this comment of yours with your previous “deaths not likely to exceed 60,000”?

Ugh, I think you missed my point. No one is scared of C19 anymore because it’s not anymore deadly than the seasonal flu. The media exhausted all the fear they possibly could and now it’s onto the new big thing to create fear.

Yes, it most certainly is.

"..The new estimates of fatality rate released by the CDC are as follows for different age groups:

0-49 years old: 0.05%
50-64 years old: 0.2%
65+ years old: 1.3%
Overall ages: 0.4%..."

Now go look up death rate for the flu and compare....

While I don't think we really know the true fatality rate for Covid - it is certainly is more deadly since we don't have a vaccine - and we don't have flu seasons with over 100,000 dead and counting.

But, flu and Covid are similar (as are most viruses) - over 80% of the fatalities tend to be 65+

And - being fat - being a drinker - taking medications - won't help you either regardless of age range.

It’s actually .26% according to the CDC. That’s about the same mortality rate as the flu and much less deadly than the flu for those under the age of 20. Look it up.

I think this virus is more contagious than the flu, therefor more deaths because more people are contracting this virus. Also, like you stated, there is no vaccine for this virus. Not that a virus is full proof because on it’s best day, it’s about 45% effective and maybe only half the nation gets the flu shot, but considering all the variations, this virus is not nearly as deadly as predicted and there was no justification for the world economy to come to a complete halt.

No, it's isn't about the same rate as the flu. Apparently you didn't look up estimated flu mortality.

Agreed that it's less deadly for kids than the flu. That's why, IMO, it would be a real shame if schools weren't able to operate as usual this fall.

What’s the mortality rate of the flu, .1%. CDC is saying C19 mortality rate is .26%. Even if the mortality rate is .4%, that is 4 people out of a 1000 over 1 out of a thousand. Point is, those who contract C19, it’s not that deadly and most definitely not deadly enough to shut down the world economy for.

You know when they are arresting University of Hawaii Football players for violating quarantine - any resident is at risk if they do the same - if you violate quarantine - hope you are friendly with your neighbors - look like a neighbor turned him in.

University of Hawaii offensive lineman Solo Vaipulu was arrested Monday for violating the state’s mandatory 14-day traveler quarantine.

The 21-year-old football player, whose legal name is Venasio Vaipulu, was reported as a quarantine violator by a witness, a state spokesperson said. The witness reportedly told investigators from the Department of the Attorney General that Vaipulu left his designated quarantine location ‘nearly daily.’

Investigators said they went to the address Vaipulu had given them upon his arrival on May 18 to discover that he had also moved residences without informing authorities.
