Hi All!

So as to not confuse the issue, this particular thread is for a charter to Honolulu the last week of October. Please limit discussion here to the October charter. As of now we have a flight for October 28 and we still have some seats available. If there are several people who would like to join this charter who would like to link it with the Pet Airways schedule, we can certainly look into changing the flight to the next day (Thursday). We will need to do this soon, so please get in touch with me if you are seriously interested.

Thank you!

Hi, I was wondering if you ever found people interested in a flight from the east coast to Hawaii. I am looking to go in late Oct. 09', with my big 106lb lab.
If not, what is the price per seat on this trip (from CA to HI), and will the price go down with more people? I will look into Pet Airways for a schedule to get him/me to California. He is ready with all the necessary quaritine requirements. I'm freaking out about putting him in cargo on a large airline.

Hi!
No, unfortunately it is double the price from the east coast. We are going to fly out of the west coast on October 28, 2009. So we have the long drive across country to look forward to. Most everyone is traveling a pretty good distance to meet the flight. We have 2 more seats if you are interested in joining us!

Sorry - I forgot to add, I am pretty sure that Pet Airways is totally sold out. Couple of others wanted to do that but they were full - the week of and the week before and after! Great for them - just wish they flew to Hawaii! Anyway - we will pretty much all be driving to California! It will be worth the effort once our pets are in Hawaii safe and sound.

Default Moving to Hawaii With dogs

We moved to Hawaii August 2008...did exactly what you are doing with Dog Travel....Turned out that we could not get our price down low enough for any of us to go that route. I shipped my 3 dogs (2 pugs 8 & 9 and 1 lab 10) over with Pacific Air Cargo from Los Angeles to Honolulu....I chose this route so my dogs could be in a plane and not under it . Albeit I could not fly with them but fortunately my husband was in Hawaii ahead of me and was there to pick them up the minute the quarantine office opened.
We got to stay with them up until they were loaded on the plane (behind the pilots) Not the perfect solution, but I rested alot easier knowing that they were inside the plane.

There is absolutely no way we will have him fly in cargo, so we are looking into chartering a flight with Dog Travel Company.

In a perfect world we would like to fly from Washington DC - Honolulu. This will be rather pricey, so if need be, we will drive to California and fly from there.

We are looking for people and their pets who might be interested in sharing a charter flight. The dogs will not only be able to travel in the cabin, but actually sit in the sit right next to you! It is a great - not to mention the safest way to travel with your dogs. They do allow cats in the cabin, but they have to be in carriers and ok with the dogs.

The more people who go - the lower the price. If anyone is interested - please let me know. There are a lot of health requirements that have to be met to bring dogs to Hawaii, so we need to start the process.

Hi Petsits,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am so glad you were able to get everyone there safely. Fortunately, we have been able to book a private charter (we ended up NOT using Dog Travel). The flight is paid for and ready to go. We do have a couple of seats left, ( I think we will have those all filled very soon. Lots of interest in them, just a matter of working out the details). So we are good to go and looking forward to a great flight with our furry friends in the cabin with us and having our feet and paws safely on the ground in Hawaii!
