Congratulations! And good luck! Not sure about the ink... but bureaucrats are bureaucrats. Like there are no color copiers on the planet, like you couldn't photoshop a document. dumb
One tip I discovered in Hawaii -- the best day to deal with govt offices like drivers licenses, dogs, car registrations, etc, is the day before a holiday. All of Hawaii is at the grocery store that day. Food is HUGE in Hawaii, so they don't go renew licenses unless they got a fix-it ticket. Same goes for the day before a 3-day weekend. They've already sneaked out of the office and are on their way to a neighbor island... so might want to give it a shot when you get there.
Good luck! Travel Safely! And even if you don't believe in it, ask the angels to wrap your dogs in their wings for the flight. It's a doozy!
Thanks and Yes, United Airlines (Los Angeles to Kahului) is the only airlines that let us do non-stop Direct Release. Other airlines required us to go through Honolulu.
BTW - Since there's no inspection station at Kahului pet owners must contract out with one of 5 or so approved veterinarians to meet you at a separate area the airport has for this.
Let's hope that the holiday thing goes for Dec. 22! Contacted the office with my dog's chip# and got the reply that he is good to go except for the health certificate which my husband will have on him for the flight.

I'm on Moloka`i already, working on the house; Hubby is driving from N. Colorado to LA to ship the pickup truck. He and the dog fly out from there. Can't wait!
