Do you get vaccination (flu, tetanus, etc)? (health issues, doctors, toddler)

I get the tetanus shot every ten years, but I don't get the flu shot unless I happen to be at the doctor for something else. I'm not old enough for the shingles vaccine yet, I don't think.

Every 10 years is recommended. I usually get the flu shot but didn't this year. It's free when I hit 65 and have a few years yet.
I had a mild case of shingles when I was about 52 or 53. It scares me especially if it gets near your eyes. The vaccine is only about 50% effective I think but better than nothing.
Yes, recommended, but a few years ago, maybe about 7, I don't remember exactly, there was a shortage, and you could only get a tetanus toxiod shot for wound prophylaxis and if you were seen in the ED.
As for me, I haven't had a flu vaccine for many years. I can't remember the last tetanus toxiod I received. However, I did have the latest pertussis (Tdap) booster. I'm really happy I got that one, as it really cut down on the bronchitis-like episodes I used to have. I haven't had any respiratory illness since.
Tetanus? Every 10 years. I got the flu vaccine once, and that was when the swine flu first came out. I'm up to date on everything else (MMR, Hep B, etc.)

Tdap is tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine so you have had tetanus vaccine.....
There is no connection between getting Tdap and having fewer "bronchitis like" episodes or other respiratory illnesses....you may have had fewer illnesses but that doesn't mean the Tdap vaccine had anything to do with it...
I would possibly get a tetanus shot if I sincerely felt the possibility that an injury could result in tetanus, but the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim.
The last time I got any vaccination was upon entering the military in 1974. And I hope to keep it that way.

I got a tetanus as well as about a dozen others when we went to live in Africa in 2007. I was also supposed to get one for TB as, being American, I had never gotten one as a child. Kids in the UK all got one as kids because so many people died from TB in the 50's. Had my doctor looking all over to get me a TB vaccination but couldn't find one. Finally someone said that at my age (53) it wouldn't do me any good anyway.
A lot of people don't want to get vaccinations or for their kids but earlier this year there was a huge outbreak of measles in the UK because so many didn't get them for their kids. Measles is a dangerous disease!
I get the flu shot every year, got a flu and pneumonia shot last year when I was in the hospital..
Need to get the shingles shot soon, my mother and my sister in law both got the shingles...very painful.
