Well stress will make you sick for sure but I go out in the cold, barefoot, and don't ever get sick from that. I do get sick when I'm around a bunch of kids and stuff. I pick up things and my immune system isn't as tough as I'd like it to be. But yeah, whatever cold, flu, illnesses I pick up can be traced to other people...not being alone a cold for a minute. You, we all, are carrying viruses and bacteria all over us all the time and perhaps certain things (even tempreture) can allow them to take hold. But it's them, there is no doubt about that.
