I have heard from several older men that if they find themselves single past like 40-50ish they either don't bother dating or they only date casually. Their sex drive is not near high enough to chase women like starving dogs anymore. Most men never liked doing that when they were younger anyways but their sex drive compelled them too, so in a way a lower sex drive is a relief for most men. Other than sex dealing with most women is not the first thing I would have on my list of fun things to do.
I did the married thing and most women are self absorbed ATM seeking wastes of my time. My sex drive is fine; I need a mute woman.
What? An old biker dude who is in fairly good shape and can get it up at least once every few days, still has most of his teeth, and has a good job doesn't pass muster, LoL?
I'm not into older guys, generally speaking, but I'd take gramps over an ex-con with no teeth who has dated 3/4 of the women in town.
Yes, their ability to do housework such as cleaning and cooking, already a malady suffered by many men of all ages, further declines in old age. It's tragic.

Hey, I oiled the steps today and have meatballs cooking for spaghetti later. You're disinvited now.
Old men do not sound appealing at all. Yuck. And I can't imagine not having frequent sex. No thank you...
Generally, an older man will be a far better lover.
