I'm the weirdo in the 230 to 1130 time frame. I wish I could sleep 8 straight hours. My usual bed time is anywhere between 2am to 5am and I wake anywhere between 830am to 1030am. My cardiologist is not amused. I have always been a night owl.

I said 9 pm to 6 am on the poll, but I'm a bit more flexible in that I usually go to bed around 9 or 9:30 pm and wake up somewhere between 5:30 and 6:30. But sometimes I can manage to stay awake until 10 or 11 pm.

I chose 9-6, but in reality, I think my "perfect" sleep window would be 11-6, then 10-12, rather than 9 consecutive

9 hours is too much sleep for me.

I find 7-8 is my sweet spot. Mostly 7 but occasionally 8. Hours would be 10ish to 6ish.

I chose the 10:30 pm slot. I have never in my life slept 9 hours. 6 hours and I'm good to go. Less then 6 I turn into a zombie!

Since my husband works from 5:00-11:00am, he’s a very early to bed guy. I’ve gotten into that habit too. I usually go to bed around 8:30 and read until 9 or 9:30. Up at 5-6:00.

I like the early morning.

9 consecutive hours seems a bit much? Consistently?

Around here there seems to be a range of sleep time, anywhere from 6 to 10 hours, depending on - hmm, I'm not quite sure what. If there's been multiple short sleep days (approx 6 hours) then a night of long sleep (9 to 10 hours) will usually happen. There's no specific bedtime, either, it seems to range from 9pm to 2am. With the occasional afternoon nap tossed in as well.

Is there supposed to be an ideal time? And why 9 hours?

Ideal sleep "window"? Down to some specific on the half hour start and end time? Really? As long as I get the amount of sleep I seem to require (which is usually about 7 hours, 8 if I'm unusually exhausted or sick) its all good. The clock time doesn't really matter as long as it is mostly dark when I want to start. Up here in AK our summer days can be over 19 hours long (dawn before 4 am, sunset after 11 pm) so daylight is a factor. That's what blackout drapes are for. In winter daylight might only last 6 hours. Even with all that darkness I couldn't stay asleep for 9 hours if I tried.

Me too:love my time for the computer when the house is quiet and it is still dark: love reading the paper with my coffee and still have lots of morning time after breakfast. I am a morning person for sure: always have been, just like my dad was.
