Ive had one of these before, on my neck. My doctor noticed it and I went to a ENT, he ran just about every test he could think of, ultimately though, he came out and told me he had no idea what it was. His advice was to just monitor it. That lump was about 3-4cm, eventually it just disappeared, it didnt decrease in size over time, it was literally, there one day, gone the next.
This new lump on my side, is about 10" below my arm pit, it is larger than the neck lump, this one is about 8cm. I had a CAT scan done on it, they taped a small jelly bean size object to the lump, (so they could spot the location on the scan), needless to say, the results came back the same as last time...they could not see anything, they even showed me the CAT scan, there is nothing there. He tried to lance it, but there was no fluid or blood.
I have been monitoring it, sometimes it feels smooth, like a river rock, but other times, the surface feels 'rough', its right under the skin, its also feels like the size and shape changes, sometimes it will feel smaller and round, other times, it feels larger and more 'tubular'.
I asked the ENT if they could just cut it out, but he said he wanted more information before he attempted to remove it.
Im just wondering if anyone else has ever had something like or known someone who has?
Ive searched online for different skin bumps and lumps, they give descriptions and pictures of all the various kinds, but none of them match what I have.
Wouldnt a family doctor or an ENT know what those look like?
Looks can be deceiving. It is what's inside the lump that matters. No matter how good they are, no doctor of any specialty has X-ray vision. They could probably aspirate it or take a sample to analyze. Why assume this lump is the same as the one you had before? YOU don't have x-ray vision either OP.

Dermatologists generally will not deal with lumps beneath the skin. (I know this from personal experience). See a doctor, this is how my late DH's lymphoma started. They may want to do a biopsy. Not sure a CT scan shows much for soft tissue.

They did fine needle aspiration on both, same results, its just white blood cells.
I have several on each forearm, one is about an inch across. Have had them for 50 or more years.
I see a dermo every year for last 15 years for other reasons. They have no interest in the lipomas.
Have you ever heard of Lipomas appearing and disappearing over short periods of time?
